Information

The Limousin breed is back in the spotlight this year, with a National Challenge. It is  the leading beef breed in several major French regions, including Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Occitanie and Brittany. Its global appeal as an export is equally impressive, being utilised in over 80 countries worldwide, either in purebred or crossbred form, owing to its inherent adaptability to diverse climates. A well-balanced breed, it boasts exceptional maternal traits, breeding prowess, and remarkable meat-producing  capabilities.

From the commercial worth of its products to the profitability of its farming methods, the Limousin breed reigns supreme among breeders, owing to its feed efficiency, marketable meat yield, calving ease, fertility, maternal longevity, and its added value in crossbreeding.

This breed will take centre stage in the ring starting at 1 pm. Nearly 70 animals will be competing. Following on from the competition, Limousin breeding stock will be auctioned.
