Comparing environmental costs in animal production

GT4E is a web platform whose main objective is to create a national reference chain for investment costs and practices of environmental interest on pig, beef and poultry farms.
The aim of GT4E is to enable each farmer to compare his investment costs and environmental practices with a reference group, and thus identify his margins for progress. To do this, they will have to enter their costs and the associated technical criteria in a secure and confidential manner.
The main headings concerned are the storage, spreading and treatment of livestock effluents (slurry, manure, digestate), renewable energy savings and production (agricultural anaerobic digestion, photovoltaics, biomass boilers), the reduction of ammonia emissions, and the cost of impact studies.
In addition, GT4E offers free-access calculators for determining the average costs of specific environmental practices.
