Control system for red mites
One of the challenges in cage-free is the occurence of red mite. To combat this issue we’ve engineered VacuMite. VacuMite provides an eco-friendly and animal conscious approach to controlling red mite infestation. The specially designed, strategically perforated perches, in the aviary serve as a trap for red mites. They gather in the perches during the night. During the day, VacuMite extracts mites from the perch with an airflow that is created by an under pressure in the perches. VacuMite silently sucks the mites away, depositing them into a central collection bin located in the technical room. As mites are removed frequently from the perch, VacuMite supports farmer to control red mites in the barn. This benefits both the welfare of the laying hens as also the work pleasure as a farmer.
