XRF portable device
AniGun measures the mineral content of feedstuffs used in animal nutrition, with a focus on forages consumed by ruminants. It uses X-Ray fluorescence technology, that was never proposed before as a portable device for animal feeding. AniGun gives analytical results of macro (P, Ca, K, S…) and micro-minerals (Zn, Mn, Cu, Fe, Cl…). Concentrations can be obtained in a few minutes, with the same accuracy than in a Laboratory. AniGun is a robust analyzer that can be utilized in the field. Nutritionists can use AniGun to determine mineral concentrations in the basal diet, at a cost much lower than laboratory analysis. Procedure is much easier without sending samples and without waiting for analytical results. By taking into account the real mineral concentrations in farms, a customized mineral supplementation can be defined. In most of cases, supplementation levels can be reduced due to excess safety margins. Benefits will be nutritional, economic and environmental.
