Body fat assessment tool for layers
Laying hen body condition is directly linked to long-term egg production and liver function. Until now, there was no way to measure and control body condition in live laying hens in the industry. It is in this context that Provimi has developed a tool to measure body fat: REVEAL™ Layers. REVEAL™ Layers is a non-invasive technology using a mobile NIR device that measures the body condition of laying hens and the associated REVEAL application provides a concrete result between the NIR spectrogram result and body fat. The information provided by the application allows poultry layer producers and nutritionists to adjust the composition of the diet to achieve ideal body condition and maximize egg production. REVEAL™ Layers integrates the Provimi holistic approach aimed at improving the technical performance of layers by optimizing laying persistence and egg production.
