- Description
- La Cave du Dragon Rouge has been producing chouchenn since 1960, in the last century! The cellar was born to produce new, quality chouchenn and to support the revival of Breton culture, which had long been crushed.
Gallic meads were undoubtedly very different from those of the Cave du Dragon Rouge, but they existed before wines and other cervoises, even if they were lukewarm! In medieval Brittany, the Breton lords had their own hydromel. The lords have disappeared, but not the hydromeliers! At the Cave du Dragon Rouge, we're proud to produce a beverage that has survived all these centuries.
The cellar produces top-of-the-range chouchenn, made in oak casks, and artisanal production is deliberately limited in volume.
At the Cave du Dragon Rouge, time is of the essence: time for fermentation, time for maturing in barrels, long months before the end of the maturing process, and finally time for blending, for the crus that require it!
Medalled on numerous occasions in international competitions, the Chouchenn Origine was awarded the gold medal at the Concours Général Agricole 2024.
