- Since 1928, the Nicol family has been producing 100% pure juice ciders and apple juice.
It all began in 1928 with André and Alice Nicol, farmers in Surzur, who produced 100% pure juice artisanal Breton cider and apple juice in keeping with cider-making tradition and know-how.
1960 saw the arrival of the second generation, when their nephew Jean NICOL took over the cider-making business, offering 100% pure juice artisanal Brut, Fruité and Doux unpasteurised Breton cider without preservatives.
In 1976, Jean NICOL planted orchards and selected local apple varieties to make his cider.
Today Didier and Jean-Michel (Jean's sons) brew around 1,100 tonnes of apples in the autumn. The family business, which has been located at the gateway to the Presqu'île de Rhuys and the Golfe du Morbihan for three generations, also produces the prestigious ‘Royal Guillevic’ Label Rouge cider.
